So, after a very lengthy leave of absence from blogging, I’m here to introduce my newest creation.
That is 9 pounds, 9 ounces of Benjamin, who arrived on the morning of his due date, April 11, 2011. His arrival has meant quite a hiatus from the kitchen, but he is worth every takeout meal and frozen pizza we’ve eaten in the past two and a half months. His big brother, Rowan, is as enamored with him as we are, if that’s possible. I have the feeling that this one will like to eat, too. Do you see those lines on his wrists? And those cheeks? If I don’t gobble them up first, they are soon going to be filled with food from his mama’s kitchen.
I’m not making any grand promises for this summer, other than just keeping us all alive. However, I’ve been invited to a Contessa-themed dinner party this weekend (isn’t that a great idea?), which inspired me to get back on the cooking and blogging wagon. We’re participating in our CSA again, too, so expect to see some seasonal fruits and vegetables featured here.
