Cream Cheese, Two Ways

It’s pretty hard to mess up cream cheese, in my opinion.  I didn’t know the stuff existed outside of TV commercials until I went to church camp and they served it up alongside the bagels and toast, and I thought, “So THIS is what I’ve been missing!”

If you want to jazz up breakfast or brunch a little bit, or if you’re just trying to use up some of the dill, parsley and scallions from another Contessa recipe (what is it with her love affair with that trio?!), this is a good way to do it.  The garlic and herb version is just the scallion version with extra ingredients (both are from Family Style).  I made micro-versions of each, spread them on a whole wheat bagel, and topped with some thinly sliced cucumber from the CSA box.
