I had a suspicion this (from Foolproof) would be good, but I had no idea how good. We practically licked the bowls clean. The soup has a little bit of orzo in it, and that was just perfect – I like something to chew, but this soup would have been a mess with something bigger like egg noodles. There’s also a smidge of saffron in it, which, along with the gruyere in the grilled cheese, elevate this meal to something really special. Bonus: I almost always have all of these ingredients in the house (and nothing had to be thawed), so this could be something we throw together when we can’t think of anything else for dinner. I made it in the afternoon and gently reheated it for dinner. Perfect.
