Palmiers (Elephant Ears)

I don’t know what took me so long to make these (from Barefoot in Paris).  The recipe was one of the easiest I’ve made, and it only required the forethought of thawing some frozen puff pastry. The result was really beautiful – something to keep in mind for a nicer tea or bake sale.  And Ina’s description is spot on – “positively addictive.”  The best part was the help from my handsome assistant.
