In case you’re not connected with me on facebook, I have some family photos from Easter to share. Easter is my favorite holiday for so, so many reasons. The big reason, of course, the reason that we sing all those Alleluias, is the central tenet of our faith. But some of the smaller things about Easter are also fun. Like little boys in seersucker.
It was a great Easter! This was the first year that I’ve taken both kids to four church services in four days. The Maundy Thursday dinner, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter morning. It was a lot, but they did great, and I’m so glad we did it. By the time mid-day Easter rolled around, though, we were in no mood for sitting down for brunch, ordering, waiting, etc., so we went to Whole Foods. I had sushi, Neil had a hot brunch, the kids had pizza, and Ben walked out looking like a commercial for laundry detergent. Later in the day, it was sunny and in the 70s, and the kids played with the sidewalk chalk that the Easter Bunny brought them.
That’s Rowan, drawing a portrait of Ben, who is (naturally) wearing long-sleeved pjs and the snow boots that he refused to wear all winter when there was actual snow on the ground.
Here’s a little look back to our past Easters at St. Stephen’s. I wonder where we’ll stand for a photo next year at Palmer? Probably outside!
