I have to take back everything I said about Texas and tomatoes, because I found them! I found really great tomatoes! After searching every grocery store and a handful of CSA boxes, I found nirvana at the Eastside Farmers’ Market this morning (bonus photos below). I made the tomato mozzarella pan bagnat from Make It Ahead. Other than accidentally including the olive pits in the tapenade-y spread (OOPS), this was a damn fine sandwich. And look! We have a panini press now, too! We bought it for quesadillas and pancakes and the like when our (really) old griddle died a few months ago. So far, so good!
